Get Well Bouquet

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog. We are still showcasing the beautiful dies from the Mother's Day release. They are so versatile and can be used for cards other than Mother's Day.

Also, want to let you know that there is a big sale going on at the online store. You can save up to 70% on dies. Lots to choose from so make your way over there to look around. You just might find something that you can add to your collection.

For today's card, I am featuring the Mom's Garden Bouquet die and I created a get well card. I never seem to have any of this type of card on hand when I need one. And, this die has such pretty flowers that it will brighten anyone's day.  So let's get started with some details on how I created my project.

Step 1: I started my card by choosing my layout. This sketch is an older one from Splitcoaststampers. I thought it would work well to show off the floral image, allow me to use  patterned paper and possibly some ribbon.
Step 2: Once the layout was decided on, I chose my card colors. I found this floral patterned paper in my stash and that determined my card colors.
Vanilla Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Baja Breeze Layer 1: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
Patterned Paper Layer 2: 3 7/8" x 2 1/2"
Vanilla Embossed Layer 3: 2 7/8" x 4 1/8"
Artichoke Green Oval Layer 4: 4th largest oval die
Vanilla Oval Layer 5: 4th largest stitched oval die
Step 3: I cut the pieces in the garden bouquet. Used a rose red, saffron (light yellow) and sugarplum cardstocks for my flowers. Used Ranger multi medium matte to secure.
I assembled the bouquet in the pitcher according to the packaging photo.
Then attached it to the oval using dimensional adhesive.
Step 4: Now that all the elements of my card are cut, I am ready to start card assembly.
Attached the panels using double sided tape.
I decided to go with ribbon and used this baja breeze pleated ribbon.
Attached the oval panel using dimensional adhesive on the top and bottom of the oval. This way it will sit evenly on the ribbon.
For my sentiment, I decided to use the "feel better" phrase from the "Ouch with Tooth" die. I cut it in rose red cardstock 2x to give it a bit more dimension. Used the multi medium matte to attach to bottom of card. To complete I cut a few of the flower centers and added to the top of my card.

And, that's it for me for this post. I hope I have given you some additional ideas on ways to use these dies for other card giving occasions. See you next Saturday.

Little Duck Baby Card

It's Jeanne posting a baby card today that uses dies from the new Mother's Day release!
I love ducks and I couldn't resist this little guy with his sweet face.  But since Mother's Day has passed I thought a baby card might be in order.
I started with an A2 card base and then cut the rectangles using the second and third smallest rectangles from the Double Stitched Rectangle set.  I picked a dot patterned paper since I thought it went well with the circles, but you could use any pattern.  Then I cut the circles using the third and fourth smallest dies from the Double Stitched Circle set in coordinating colors.
For the inside I used the largest of the Nested Double Stitched Rectangles.  I cut a full set of ducks from So Saffron card stock.
Using the Y26 Copic marker, I colored in the duck bills and one set of feet.   I wanted my outside ducks to be swimming, so they did not get feet.
I glued one duckling to the inside panel and the other one and his mama to the circles to form medallions.
I glued the rectangles to the outside front about an eighth inch from the sides and top/bottom.  Then I heat embossed the outside sentiment in white and stamped the inside sentiment in Coastal Cabana.
My last step was to glue it all together.  This card was simple to make but is adorable.  And it is flat which makes for easy mailing!  Ducks are gender neutral so this can easily be changed to a feminine card by changing the colors.

Birthday Cupcake!

Good Morning Scrapping Cottage Friends!

We have a  Mother's Day Release available in the online store now.  There are 22 fantastic dies!  These dies are so adorable and can be used for other occasions so don't miss out!  Today, I am using the cupcake for a birthday card!
Design Steps:
 1. Using the Mother's Day Cupcake die cut all of the pieces of the cupcake out using pink, green, white and yellow card stock
 2.  Assemble the cupcake as shown above, I colored the heart and small flowers with my markers
 3.  Use an A2 card base, cut a 4 1/8 x 5 1/4 piece of white card stock and run it through the swiss dot embossing folder, cut a piece of striped DP 3 x 5, cut a strip of pink card stock 1/8 x 5 and a piece of dotted DP 1/4 x 5
 4.  Using the Scalloped 2 1/2 inch circle die cut a circle on the striped DP 1 inch from the top.  Glue the 2 strips to the embossed white card stock as shown
 5.  Glue the DP with the scalloped circle cut out to the embossed card stock as shown
 6.  Using foam tape pop the cupcake to the center of the circle
7.  Using white foam sheets that have adhesive on the back run it through the machine using the Expressions Happy Birthday die.  Adhere the Happy Birthday to the front panel just below the cupcake.  Then glue the embossed panel to the card front

Mother's Day Release Design Team Samples (Part 3)

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are sampling DT cards from the Mother's Day release.

There are 22 dies in this release that includes 3 Mothers Day phrase dies. All the other dies could be used year round for a variety of occasions.
We have had a good response when we do a group post on a new release. It gives you the opportunity to see more card samples from the Design Team. So we are continuing that again this month.

There are 4 samples for today and later in the month, we will post another set of 4 samples. Plus the design team will be featuring these dies in their posts over the next couple of weeks.

Card 1: This first sample is from Anja Zurga. She used the hat box w/flowers die and created a cake. Love her creative thought process on this one. Notice how she spread embossing paste on the sides to resemble frosting.
By using the scallop circle die it draws your eye right to the image. This would work as a birthday card or even a wedding card.
Card 2:  The next sample is another from Anja. On this super sweet card she used the Mama Kangaroo & Joey and Love You Mom dies. The card she created could be used for an anniversary card or just to let that special someone know you care.
The joey (baby kangaroo) was replaced with the heart and love you phrase. The pink heart paper really completes this design.
Card 3: The next sample is one from Lois Bak. She also used the hat box w/flowers die to create a beautiful card for Mom. It's a type of card that could have been used for Mother's Day or anytime during the year you want to send some love to Mom. The layout is from the Splitcoaststampers sketch #696.
Card 4:  The last sample for today is one that I created using the Bouquet of Tulips die. The card colors are from this week's color challenge #687 on Splitcoaststampers. Even though this die is part of the Mother's Day release, it can easily be used for any other type of card.
I hope the samples shown today have sparked some ideas for alternate ways to use these new dies.  They are all so beautiful and the detail in all of them is amazing. We will have one more group post the end of this month using these dies.
