Mom's Slimline Lift Flap Card

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

We have a brand new release of dies in the online store. Your slimline cardmaking is going to get a lot easier. We have 9 Slimline designs and they are on sale at a great price. You can get the entire bundle for under a $100 or each individual die is 25% off.

And we are also having a sale to celebrate 19 years in business. You can save up to 60% on select dies. The sale runs through April 12. So check out the online store now for the best selections.

Today for your viewing pleasure, I created a Mother's Day card.  I am featuring the new Lift Flaps Stitched Rectangle Slimline die. It is a 5 piece die set.

Since we are having a sale on most dies, I thought I would select one to use with the Lifts Flaps die.  I used the Flowers for Mom die from an older Mother's Day release. And, and it's currently on sale for 40% off.

So let's get started with some details of how I created my card.

Design Steps:

I started off by cutting my light purple cardstock with the double stitched rectangle die that is included in this set. I use a Big Shot machine and you do need the extended platform for the slimline dies.
Next, I laid the lift flaps die on the rectangle I just cut, Secured it with tape and ran it back through the Big Shot.
I didn't want the flaps to be empty so I decided to stencil some flowers on the 2 end flaps. This stencil was so small and even though I covered the edges, I did manage to get a bit of the violet ink in the corner. Not to worry because  I was going to use enamel dots, and it will cover it.

Now I am ready to cut the bouquets of flowers that will go under the flap. I used different colors of cardstock for the vases, teapot, flowers and leaves.

I adhered the vases under the flaps with a combo of double sided tape and Ranger multi medium matte adhesive.
I adhered the image panel to a white card base. Finished base size is 8" x  3". I cut my card stock at 8" x 6" and then scored at the 3" mark.

To finish off my card I added the "Mom" phrase cut in a grape cardstock. It's from the 2018 Mom w/heart die. I scattered a couple of grape hearts and a few enamel dots.

That's it for me for this post. I will be back on Monday with another card using these new Slimline basic dies.

Bowl of Flowers

Hi!

This is Anja. How was you week? I've been busy at work. Lots of projects to finish, before the school year ends. When I manage to get some free time, I've been crafting. Flowers are still one of my favourites dies to work with. An because I'm still waiting for the new dies to come, I used flowers again an made a flower arrangement.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Flowers for Mom, Hat Box with Flowers, Mom's Garden Bouquet, Chicken Noodle Soup, Made w/ Love Phrase, Nested Stitched Doily Set),
- Distress Inks (Black Soot, Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint, Mowed Lawn, Barn Door, Mustard Seed, Shabby Shutters, Stormy Sky),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- white card base (10,5x21 cm),
- patterned paper (2,5x21 cm),
- scissors,
- adhesive tape,
- paper glue.

First I die cut the flowers. I used Distress Inks to color it.

Then I die cut and colored the bowl.

I cut the flowers in pieces and arranged in the bowl. I used adhesive tape in the back to hold it together.

Then I cut the doily, to look like a tablecloth.

I also cut the sentiment and colored it with Distress Ink.

When I had all the pieces cut and colored I arranged it on the card base. I also cut a strip from patterned paper, so it looks like a wooden table.

This is all about my card for today. I hope next week I start wit more masculine cards. New "Just for Guys" release is still on sale. You should check it out.

Enjoy your Sunday and see you gain in a week.

Pretty Vases!

Good Morning Scrapping Cottage Family,

It is Pam sharing with you today on the blog!

We are still showcasing the beautiful dies from the Mother's Day release.  They are so fantastic and can be used for a variety of occasions.

Also, there is a big sale going on in the online store.  You can save up to 70% on dies.  Lots to choose from so take some time to go shopping!  Now is the time to add to your collection!

Now on to today's card!  This card is so great for the spring with lots of flower in beautiful vases!

Design Steps:
 1.  Cut all of the pieces in white card stock using the Flowers for Mom die
 2.  Use your markers and color all of the pieces.  I used Copics: G40, 43, 46 - YR16, Y18, and R46
 3.  Assemble the flowers and then arrange them into the vases
 4.  When I assembled the vases I used tape to adhere the flowers to the vases
 5.  Use an A2 whtie card base, cut a piece of white card stock slightly smaller and run through a dotted embossing folder.  Cut a piece of DP 4 x 5 1/4 and cut out 3 2 inch squares using the Nested Stitched Scallop Square Set.  Glue the DP to the embossed card stock and then to the front of the card.  Pop up all of the vases in the squares, add the sentiment and bow

Blooming Meadows

Hi!

It's Anja here. Meadows around me are in full bloom. I love this time of the year because everything is blooming and colors are just beautiful. But not everyone loves this time of the year. I have a few friends and family that just waits for the trees, flowers and grass to stop blooming, because it gives them awful allergies. And because of all this sneezing around me I got an idea for today's project. I made two Feel better tags to send positive thoughts to all those who cannot enjoy the nature blooming.

For this project I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Flowers for Mom, Mail Tag Set, Spring Foliage Border, Ouch with Tooth, Sending Hugs Bear),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- Distress inks (Peeled Paint, Bundled Sage, Pine Needles, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Stormy Sky, Dust Concord, Seedless Preserves, Fired Brick, Barn Door, Forest Moss),
- brush,
- scissors,
- violet ribbon,
- paper glue.

First I cut the tags and colored them with Distress Ink and brush.

Then I die cut and colored flowers and other greenery.

Then I cut the sentiments and colored them with Distress Inks.

And then I had to glue everything together. I cut Spring Foliage Border into two pieces, one for each tag.

And this is all from me for today. Have a nice Sunday and see you again next week.

Anja Z.
