Cut out a cup from red and white cardstock, and shadow it with Diastress inks.

Paste washi tape on white cardstock and cut out a bow.

Fasten washi tape 1.6" (4 cm) from the bottom edge.

Tea and Cookies

Hi, Lois here with a little bit of Valentine fun.   As a non-coffee drinker, I appreciated one of the new Valentine dies called Cup of Love.  In addition to the cup die, this gave you the option of tea and/or hot cocoa with marshmallow on top!  My card today is a little "tea for two."

Supplies for this card are:

Cardstock - white, pink, blue, silver, tan, red
Ink - black, pink, blue
Dies - CottageCutz Cup of Love, Double Stitched Ovals, Double Stitched Circles
Other - white gel pen, foam pop dots, sponge applicators

I started cutting my card base from white cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", folded in half.  Next I cut a pink panel 5 1/4" x 4" and a white panel 5 1/8" x 3 7/8".  Then I cut out the pieces from Cup of Love,  using small scraps of cardstock, and Double Stitched Oval from silver cardstock.

I sponged a little bit around the edges of the cups and handles with a darker pink and blue.

Then I cut out some tan and pink "cookies" and "icing" using the Double Stitched Circles.

I carefully trimmed back the pink circles at the first stitch line.  This would make my "icing."  Then I ran a white gel pen around the remaining stitch line to add a bit of decoration on my cookies.

All that was left was to construct my card.  I sponged around the edge of the white panel, adhered it to the pink panel and added it to the white card base.  I placed the cups on the tray and added the three cookies, popping one of them up with foam pop dots.  I added the tea bag and stamped the sentiment, and my card was complete.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hello everyone!

Happy New Year!  I wish all of you good health, happiness and lots of crafting in the new year.  It's Donna here to share with you a Valentine card.  There are several newly released Valentine dies that you just have to see.  Go over to the CottageCutz store and check them out.  Check out the blog also, because some of the Design Team members have made some beautiful cards with the new dies.

I am using the Puppy with Valentine and Kitty Love Mail on my card.  These sets are adorable and so easy to assemble.  See below on how I put my card together.

Here is how I put my card together:

I cut all the pieces I need for the Puppy with Valentine die.  It's so nice because I was able to use all scrap pieces of paper to cut this out.  It does not take much paper for this die.

Here I assembled the dog and inked him.  I used the black pen to color in the eyes and the white pen to make the pupils.

I cut all the pieces I needed for the Kitty Love Mail, again I used all scrap pieces of paper.  I inked all my edges and assembled the mailbox.  I decided not to use the flowers.  I used the CottageCutz 7" Grass Border for the grass.

Here I wanted to show you that I used a tool made by Spellbinder called "Tool in One" to push all the small pieces of paper out of the die. If you don't have one of these, this is a great tool to have.

To finish the card off, I added the clouds from the CottageCutz "Clouds & Sun" die and added my sentiment using the CottageCutz "Happy" die.

Thank you so much for stopping by, please come back again soon.

Valentine Love Cards + Sketch

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog. Since this is my first post of 2017, I would like to send Happy New Year wishes to all of our Blogging Friends.

It's definitely time to start thinking about your Valentine cards. I send them out to my family and friends. They like receiving them and being thought of on this love day. So I have 2 cards for your viewing pleasure today. I am using the same layout and mostly the same stamps on each card.

So lets get started on some details of how I created both cards.

Red Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Patterned Paper Layer: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
Red Layer For Image Panel: 3 1/2" x 4 1/2"
Image Panel: 3 3/8" x 4 1/4"

My layout is from this week's sketch #626 on Splitcoaststampers. I used it on both of my cards.
Once I decided on this card layout, I chose my patterned paper and that determined by card colors. I cut all the layers and then the die cuts. I am using the new Love Bow & Arrow die which will be in the online store soon for purchasing.

Before I assembled my image panel, I stamped my sentiment. The stamp was a bit to long for this panel so I masked part of it off and stamped it on 2 lines. I used my MISTI tool to accomplish this. Although any stamp positioner would work as well. I placed the bottom heart on the panel so I would have an idea of where to place my sentiment.

For the long rectangle strip in the sketch, I used pink cardstock measuring 3/4" x 5 1/2" and a heart embossing folder for added texture.

I added my die cut images. You will notice on the sketch photo they have circles. When you use a sketch it's a starting point. You can always substitute the images. As long as your finished card resembles the sketch your good.  After I assembled my card, I thought the image panel looked bare. So I scattered some love words and hearts to finish it off. I was happy with the finished card.

On my 2nd card, I used the same sketch so the panel measurements are the same as above. I changed up the colors to black and red.  For this image panel I used a white corrugated paper I found in my stash. And, instead of using patterned paper, I used a hearts embossing folder. The Happy Valentine's Day die is also another new die and will be in the online store soon.

I decided to make a substitute on the circles in the sketch on this card also. I used 2 die cut images and then the "V' from the Happy Valentine's Day die cut served as the middle shape. And that completed this 2nd card. I hope I have given you some inspiration for your Valentine cards. As soon as the new dies are in the store, I will update this blog post.

Until next time..........inky hugs.
