A Cup of Christmas Florals

Hi!

This is Anja again. Red and green are two of the traditional Christmas season colors. Today I pulled out all the red and green shades of Distress Inks I have and used it to make a cup of florals. I love coloring greenery and flowers so I die cut a little more and made a card and a smaller circle that can be used as a tag if we make a hole trough it.

For this project I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Christmas Floral, Nested Stitched Scallop Rectangle Set, Nested Stitched Scallop Circle Set, Pierced Circle Set, Sweet Spring Kitty),
- Distress Inks (Barn Door, Fired Brick, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Mowed Lawn, Pine Needles, Antique Linen, Bundled Sage, Shabby Shutters),
- craft paper base (13,5x13,5 cm),
- white and craft paper for die cuts,
- Nuvo Crystal Drops (Autumn Red),
- Liquid Pearls (White Opal),
- paper glue,
- design paper (13x13 cm),
- gold pigment ink,
- gold acrylic paint.

I cut a piece of design paper and two strips of craft paper.

Then I die cut two circles and rectangles. I spritzed the lighter ones with gold acrylic paint.

I glued all the card and tag bases together.

Then I die cut all the other pieces from white card stock and colored it with Distress Inks.

I die cut all the florals in two pieces. First I colored every piece with lighter shade of ink and then put a darker shade around the edges.

I made 3D effect with liquid pearls in red and white and let it dry.

When everything was colored and dried I glued all the floral pieces together.

And this is my final result from a bit closer.

Enjoy your Sunday and have a nice week.

Cards with Birds

Hi!

It's Anja here. Last week I told you I prefer to use dies over stamps on my cards. But this week I decided to use stamps. Cottage Cutz has a few new stamp and die sets with beautiful birds and flowers motives. I colored two of my favourite and used them on cards. This is how the finished cards look like.

To make the cards I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Sparrow on Post, Bluejay & Apple Blossom, Spring Greenery, Nested Stitched Scallop Oval Set, Sweet Spring Kitty),
- Distress Inks (Peeled Paint, Forest Moss),
- Distress Oxides (Peeled Paint, Twisted Citron, Lucky Clover, Faded Jeans, Fired Brick, Broken China, Vintage Photo),
- two craft card bases (10,5x15 cm),
- water color paper for stamping,
- white card stock for die cuts,
- Versafine Black Onyx ink,
- Derwent watercolor and inktense pencils,
- Zig watercolor pencils,
- stamp with lettering motive,
- glossy accents,
- red, black, white, yellow pen,
- stamping platform,
- washi tape.

First I stamped the image on watercolor paper.

I colored both images with the combination of Zig markers and watercolor pencils, because I only have a few Zig markers. I mostly color with Derwent color pencils. They are my favourite.

When I finished coloring I cut the motive with my Big Shot machine. I used washi tape to fix the die.

I used the same coloring technique for the other bird image.

Then I die cut the ovals and colored them in light blue inside the die.

For the background I stamped directly on to the card base. Oxides really leave a clear image on craft background. I used Vintage Photo around the edges.

Then I die cut some greenery and flowers, colored them with combination of Distress Inks and Oxides and glued everything on the card base.

And for the finish touch I used some Glossy Accents.

I hope you will give this beautiful birds a try. They are so much fun to color.

Have a beautiful and sunny Sunday and I will be back next week.

Rose Bouquets

Hi!

This is Anja again. I hope you are all doing well on this rainy Sunday. My thoughts and prayers go to all who are battling for safety and protection during the hurricanes.

I made two cards today that can be used on variety of occasions. The rose die from the new wedding collection is one of my favourite new dies. You can use it in so many different ways. Today I made two bouquets. I combined it with wheat sticks, but you could also use some other greenery.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Rose with Wedding Rings, Sweet Spring Kitty, Wheat Stalks, Nested Wacky Stitched Square Set),
- Distress Oxides (Candied Apple, Fossilized Amber, Peeled Paint, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Wild Honey, Fired Brick),
- white card base (13x13 cm),
- patterned paper (12,6x12,6 cm)
- white card stock for die cuts,
- paper glue.

I cut the background from patterned and white paper. I used nested dies. This wacky ones add such a nice border to the square. I colored all the edges with Distress Oxide Fired Brick.

I die cut all the other pieces from white card stock. I use 300 g paper for the die cuts becuase it is easier to color. I colored everything with Distress Oxides.

Then I added some 3 effect to the roses and the wheat sitcks.

And then I just arranged the bouquets and glued it together.

And just a reminder for the end. New Halloween and Christmas dies will be available September 20th. No products will ship during this time beacuse we are moving to a larger warehouse.

Have a nice Sunday.
